Howard is a joint managing Director and Owner of the design Q (Q Automotive Limited). He designed for Rover from 1983 to 1987, was the principal designer for Jaguar cars from 1987 to 1997 and has been involved in projects such as XJ220, XJS, XJ6, XJR and S Type.

He formed his company Design Q in 1997 with Gary Doy. Within his company, he worked on different projects such as Jensen SV8 & CV8, Aston Martin QV8, Ferrarri FXX, Maserati Grandsport and Masertai MC12.

He also contributed to many aviation projects including Virgin atlantic Upper Class suite (First commercial Aircraft), Cathay Pacific All Cabins and Classes, Bombardier Global Vision Flight deck, Learjet 85, BAE 146 VIP and MD11 Head of State.
